What is MALEM?
Maine Association of Local Emergency Managers (MALEM) is a non-profit organization supporting and enhancing local emergency management efforts in the state. The Mission of MALEM is to promote and represent the field of Emergency Management in order to enhance the safety of all citizens of and visitors to the State of Maine.
How can You Help?
There are three basic ways that members can help the Association by participation. First is to run for an Officer position. There are four positions – President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Second is to volunteer for a Committee. There are five committees – Awards, Membership, Government Affairs, Training and Education, and Webpage Management. Third is to write blog articles for the Website. We are always looking for news, information and short essays on emergency management.
The Association is, like most things in life, all about what we put into it. The more involvement by members, the more productive and capable the Association will be. We look forward to your involvement!
