In August 2023, the Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), the Maine Association of Local Emergency Managers (MALEM), and the Maine Emergency Management County Directors Council (MEMCDC) collaboratively revised the Local Emergency Management Director Handbook to ensure the needs of Local Emergency Managers and Emergency Management Best Practices were met. The purpose of this handbook is to help acquaint appointed Emergency Managements in Maine’s communities with the duties of the job.
