Call for MALEM 2026 Award Nominations and Scholarship Applications

We’re pleased to share our call for 2026 award nominations, and for scholarship applications.

Every year, the Maine Association of Local Emergency Managers (MALEM) recognizes several emergency managers across the State as part of our award program.  We have five awards, and the full descriptions are located in the program flyer and the nomination form;

        –Service Award: an individual who has had a significant impact for our State and communities.
        –Lifetime Achievement Award: a professional with at least 15 years of dedicated service to the field of emergency management.
        –Student of the Year Award: a student who has exhibited a great curiosity to learn and develop their skill set for the field of emergency management in 2025.
        –Emerging Professional Award: an emerging professional who has been employed in the field for less than 5 years.
        –Mentorship Award: an individual who contributed to the professional and personal development of others in emergency management.

We are also excited to offer a scholarship opportunity for students pursuing higher education in emergency management or a closely related field. For eligibility and application instructions, see the program flyer and the application form.

The deadline for both programs is February 20, 2026 – Thank you for helping us recognize and support the emergency management community!
